Instagram does not let the users block or hide their posts before they see it. So, they have set this as an option. But there is still a possibility of showing other people’s messages without deleting them. But at least you will get to know if someone has seen and read them.
So how do you hide messages without deleting them? The easiest way would be by just adding dots to your pictures. It may work for some but it might not be good for all posts. If your pictures are very important and you really don’t want any person to see them then you can add them in between and show them later then disappear. Or you can create different folders containing your personal photos. This would also work for people who have no such privacy settings on Instagram.
2. Hiding Your Stories With Disappearing Pics
Instagram doesn’t allow users hide all the stories they post. They keep your original ones. In case this happens then we can use disappearing pics to hide some information of past stories where you have written information about yourself. Just select these pics to make them disappear immediately they come up in your story settings. Follow their footsteps. No one will even notice!

If you have used Instagram’s security tools then you may know that it allows changing the settings and giving access to only those accounts that have approved us. But if you want to hide any kind of notification then you need to go under the account’s profile. You can click on “Settings” at the bottom menu and choose “Social media permissions” to change your privacy settings. Now whenever the messages appear you have full control over who sees them. Also in the dropdown menu you will find an option called “Manage Permissions” on the left side which tells you about all the notifications and messages you need to worry about. By going through these steps carefully you should be able to manage your own emails and your private messages.
6. Show Only People Who Have Direct Messages
Instagram has several features to hide certain kinds of people. But while using Instagram you cannot hide everybody who follows them. We can make the changes in the settings from the profiles which you can remove to keep only your family members. If you do so then the family group won’t show anywhere on their timeline because it is too small. And even you can’t see anyone new who has joined via your link. So, here I am sharing with you my method. Just switch off the comments in the feed and check the contacts. Once you click into the contact you will see two options which I have mentioned earlier. One is “Change Contacts” and you can change the contact name, phone number, email. Another option is “Delete Contact”. Which tells me you can just delete that individual and forget about him/her on your list. Let me ask you this question. Why do we need our friends’ contacts? We can send messages to any single individual if he has his contact profile. But once you open that conversation then you can send any kind of message and nobody can see or hear it unless you have permission to do so. So if you have given everyone permission to follow you then you can’t show your friend’s links.
7. Set Up A Secret Password
I’m sure you might have heard about this option before. It’s used by lots of celebrities. Recently it was used very easily by none other than Rihanna who got a few months to memorize the password and then posted them publicly.
So here it goes again. I am sharing this to tell me about how a famous celebrity used it and you can do so as well. First, open the app you are using to view your updates. After that, tap on the screen named “Settings” and select “Accounts” from the left panel. From now on, I am going to call that dashboard your account only. Next, enter your username and password you have created and hit Save. Now whenever someone tries to log in to your account then it’ll show your public profile along with your password. Finally, if he wants to send a friend request then he will come up with an OTP. So now you know how easy the secret is.
8. Don’t Post Too Many Pictures When You Are Feeling Underaged
If you are feeling underaged then you should limit your posting on Instagram. Because Instagram likes to collect more snaps and like all of you. It seems like everything is always happening around us. So, instead of taking more photos, I’d suggest to start getting involved in real life to give yourself a break. Instead of sending fake photos please post that genuine photo and try to meet people along the journey. That person will love you when the time comes.
9. Delete Fake Accounts
Let me share something which works great for me personally. I deleted my @shilpa_instagram account a long time back but never realized that I had deleted it because of my old account. But after deleting it, when I re-login my account no one can see it as I have no notifications in the new device. So now I am making one big deal over it. I really enjoyed that you have made space for me to create content. But the fact that you are looking for a better place to place all this stuff will not only disappoint you but also bring down your trust in your business. So, now I’m removing myself from every picture post, you don’t have anything to look at, so you will not be able to see them anymore. Now you won’t be able to search for me anywhere and I’m pretty sure even Instagram will not allow you to put me on search. My new insta will only show me when I post anything...
